What he did at the Mosque...
December 6, 2006

"A moment of recollection"
Today the Pope reflected upon his visit to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul. Sedes compare his remarks with St. Bernard the "honey-tongued" Doctor of the Church before crying heresy...
| Pausing for some moments in recollection in that place of prayer, I turned to the One Lord of Heaven and Earth, the merciful Father of the whole of mankind. May all believers recognize themselves as His creatures and give witness of true brotherhood. | Just as Adam’s sin spread through all mankind and took hold of all, so Christ, who created and redeemed all, will glorify all, once he takes possession of all. |

Christ redeemed all....("Understand me rightly !") as another English prelate was wont to say... If the title of "Subtle Doctor" were not already occupied, posterity might well have bestowed it on Papa Ratzinger himself at some future point with a remark like this.
