History of this Church
The history of this church is in some sense a snapshot of the developments and events of the Traditional Catholic Movement at large in the United States of America. As we state on the home page of this site: "we are friends of all and followers of none" with reason as an in-depth perusal of this page will show why. Over its almost 4 decades of existence, this church has been associated with many figures of the Traditional movement (a veritable 'Who's Who') and consequently has reason (by the crossing of paths) to say that we are the "friends of all". However, since this church never followed any of the organized groups within Tradition, we at this church have been "followers of none" in the strictest sense other than to profess a loyalty (an apt term as will be seen) to the Faith of all time. The ground work for this page was in many ways laid by the labors of a long-time member of this church (together with her parents who were members from the beginning) who presented a privately produced copy of the typed narrative to this editor in September of 2005. The editor (not wishing to duplicate the labors by scanning and recognizing the already existing text), asked if a digital copy of the original labors might be provided, and, after a little extra effort, this was done. The editor of this page has access to wider material than the original compiler so her efforts (considerable as they are) will be supplemented by many items conserved in the official archives of the church to which the editor alone has access. For the original efforts that have helped to make this page possible - this editor wishes to express deepest thanks to Kathy for her prodigious energies expended on this labor of love for what was, for many years, her spiritual home. Those entries below that come from the original text will be identified by (KB) after each entry so you may know who did the real work on providing the text. Other than this introduction, the texts which follow (many of them newspaper clippings that detail our story) appear exactly as they are in their original version (with grammatical and spelling corrections made as needed), usually without commentary - except to explain, perhaps, the reason for their inclusion here. The contents evidently express the convictions of those who expressed them (whomever they may be). In retrospect some of the entries may seem now to be sometimes quite forceful, because of the passions aroused by the conciliar reforms - so recent in the memories of those early soldiers for their Faith. Since the texts are left to speak for themselves (in most cases) and this is meant to represent a history of this church based solely on the historical sources themselves, the thoughts expressed do not now necessarily reflect the opinion of this editor or the people or the board of this church. Approach this subject, then, dear reader, with the thought that what you see and read now, was what happened then, and what happened then, caused this church to endure despite all the odds.
