MORNING OFFERING

O my God, I offer You all my prayers, works, and sufferings in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus for the intentions for which He pleads and offers himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in thanksgiving for Your favors, in reparation for my offenses, and in humble supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare for the wants of Holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners and for the relief of the poor souls in Purgatory.

Volo adipisci omnes indulgentias precibus quae offeram adnexas, et bonis operibus hac die faciam. I wish to gain all the indulgences attached to the prayers I shall say and the good works I shall perform this day.
Pater noster, qui es in coelis: sanctificetur Nomen Tuum; adveniat regnum tuum; fiat voluntas Tua sicut in coelo et in terra. Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie et dimitte nobis debita nostra sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris; et ne nos inducas in tentationem, sed libera nos a malo. Amen. Our Father, who art in heaven; hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgave us our trespasses, as we forgive them who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother, to thee I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions; but in thy clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

ORATIO SANCTI FRANCISCI

PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS

Domine, fac me pacis tuae, instrumentum. Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy, O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

PRECES VESPERTINAE

NIGHT PRAYERS

I most heartily thank thee, O Lord, for all Thy mercies and blessings bestowed upon me and upon Thy whole Church; in particular, for those which 1 have received from Thee this day, in watching over me and preserving me from the many evils and dangers to which I have been exposed. O let me never more be ungrateful to Thee Who art so good and gracious to me. And now, dear Lord, add this one blessing to the rest: That I may clearly discover the sins which I have committed this day, by thought, word and deed, or any ommission of any part of my duty to Thee, or to my neighbor, or to myself. That no part of my guilt may be hidden from my own eyes, and thatI may see my sins and hate them as I ought.
O Heavenly Father, I acknowledge.and confess that I am heartily sorry for the sins of my past life and of this day in particular. I grieve from the bottom of my heart for having been so ungrateful to Thee, my God and my chief Good.
Parce mihi! Spare me! I beseech Thee, by the death and love of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, and mercifully forgive me whatsoever sins I have this day or heretofore committed against Thee, my neighbor or myself.
Omnipotens Deus, hic in tua praesentia et coram totum coetum Caelestium, ut exinde vivam secundum strictiorem obedientiam mandatorum tuorum, firmiter propono. Praeterea ut super meipsum vigilantius sim, rnalos mores meos corrigam, officiis meis diligentius attendam, omnia peccata et quaecumque eis forsan perducentia evitem, propono. O Almighty God, I firmly resolve here in Thy Presence and before the whole company of Heaven to live henceforth in more strict obedience to Thy commandments. I resolve to keep a closer watch over myself; to correct my evil habits; to attend more diligency to my duty; to avoid more carefully all sin and whatsoever may lead to it.
Angele Dei, qui custos es mei, me tibi commissum pietate paterna; illumina, custodi, rege et guberna. O my good Angel, whom God has appointed to be my guardian, enlighten and protect me, direct and govern me this night. Amen.
Domine, gratia tua vigilantes, et potentia tua dormientes, adjuva nos; ut sive vigilantes sive dormientes, pax Domini Nostri Jesu Christi sit super nos semper. O Lord help us with Thy Grace while we are awake, and defend us with Thy Power while we are asleep, that whether we are awake or asleep, the peace of Our Lord, Jesus Christ may be with us.
Visit, we beseech Thee, O Lord, this habitation and drive far from us all the snares of our enemy. Let Thy holy Angels dwell herein to preserve us in peace, and let Thy blessing be always upon us through Christ, Our Lord. May the Almighty God be our Guardian and Comforter. May He keep far from us bad dreams and vain imaginations and preserve us pure in body and soul.
We fly to thy refuge, O Holy Mary, and we implore thy aid. Turn thine eyes of compassion upon us, thy children, and protect us this night. Be to us always our most loving Mother, and pour down upon us thy maternal benediction. O blessed, O sweetest Mary and you, my holy Patrons and all the Saints of God, and Saint Joseph, foster father of Jesus Christ, Patron of the Church, pray for us, and obtain for us a quiet night and a happy death. Bless O Lord, the repose I am about to take that my bodily strength being renewed, I may be the better enabled to serve Thee.
0 Victorious Lady, thou who are ever so powerful in conquering the hardest of hearts, intercede for those for whom we pray that their hearts may be softened by the rays of Divine Grace, that they may return to the unity of true Faith through Christ, Our Lord.
