Go to Joseph !

January 30, 2010

There is only one desire in this column or pillar, that is, to glory in my Father  for the greater glory and honor of God, Whose shadow he was on earth.

He has silently taught me the greatest lessons of my life…These quotes below fill me with gratitude which I wish to pour out all over the world!

St. Madeleine Sophie Barat

"The two greatest personages who ever lived on this earth subjected themselves to him. Jesus wished to become indebted to St. Joseph for the necessaries of life, and of this holy Patriarch alone it may be said that he saved the life of his Savior. Let us love Jesus above all; let us love Mary as our Mother; but, then, how could we keep from loving Joseph, who was so intimately united to both Jesus and Mary? And how can we honor him better than by imitating his virtues? Now, what else did he do in all his life but contemplate, study and adore Jesus, even in the midst of his daily labors? Behold, therefore, our model."

The Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Bridget of Sweden

"St. Joseph was so reserved and careful in his speech, that not one word ever issued from his mouth that was not good and holy, nor did he ever indulge in unnecessary or less charitable conversation. He was most patient and diligent in bearing fatigue; he practiced extreme poverty; he was most meek in bearing injuries; he was strong and constant against my enemies; he was the faithful witness of the wonders of Heaven, being dead to the flesh and the world, living only for God and for heavenly goods, which were the only things he desired. He was perfectly conformed to the Divine Will and so resigned to the dispositions of Heaven, that he ever repeated: 'May the Will of God ever be done in me!' He rarely spoke with men, but continually with God, Whose Will he desired to perform. Wherefore, he now enjoys great glory in Heaven."

Blessed Pope Pius IX

"I have seen a little picture which represents St. Joseph with the Divine Infant, Who points towards him, saying: 'Ite ad Joseph!' To you I say the same. Go to Joseph! Have recourse with special confidence to St. Joseph, for his protection is most powerful, as he is the Patron of the Universal Church."

St. Pierre Julien Eymard

"Our Lord has given me today a singular grace. He has inspired me to dedicate myself in an especial manner to St. Joseph as to my father, leader and protector. . .. He will be the spiritual director of my interior life, in order that I may lead that same life with him, hidden with Jesus and Mary and with his own self.

Rev. Isidore Isolano, O. P., XVIth century

"The Holy Ghost will never cease to act on the hearts of the faithful until the universal Church honors with transports the divine Joseph with a new veneration, founds monasteries, builds churches, erects altars in his name, multiplies his Feasts, and celebrates them more solemnly. The Lord will send His light into the inmost places of minds and hearts. Great men will scrutinize the interior gifts of God hidden in St. Joseph, and they will find in him a treasure of inestimable price. The riches and abundance of spiritual graces have shone with a brightness unique in his person, of such a kind that he cannot be compared either to the Saints of the Old Law or the New....

"Bless then, O ye people, bless St. Joseph in order that you may be filled with benedictions, for whoever will bless him will be blessed with superabundant blessings...

We have every reason to believe that the immortal God wishes at the end of time to honor Joseph in the empire of the Church militant with honors most brilliant, and to render him the object of the most profound veneration.”

St Matthew

In chapter V. says:  “…You are the light of the world…shine to all that are in the house…let your light shine before men that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father , Who is in Heaven… he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.”

And to a little nun to whom Jesus conversed with often, her name – Sr. Mary Consolata Betrone. Taken from the book :

“JESUS APPEALS to the WORLD”, by Fr. Lorenzo Sales, I.M.C.  page 27

“ On March 19th, 1935, Jesus favored Sr. Consolata with a great revelation concerning the sanctity of Saint Joseph. Astounded and deeply moved, the humble maiden turned to Him:

“Why, O Jesus, dost Thou tell me all these things, to me who can do nothing, and why dost Thou conceal them from the great ones who might be able to do so much?”

Jesus replied:  To the little ones I tell everything.”

“Jesus, Mary and Joseph,
I give you my
heart and my soul !”
