In the beginning when there was only God - Who is infinite freedom. He Who always was and always will be. God exists of Himself. - Pure, simple, intellectual, personal, alone, the supreme Immaterial Being, God Who is Spirit! Who is all perfections: omnipotence, eternal, omniscience, all just, all sanctity, all merciful etc.

Resplendent Goodness, Truth, and Beauty! God is Living LOVE, Light!

What does God do? He gives. In God there are Three Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit). We call Them the Blessed Trinity. The Blessed Trinity is the Family of God. In this family all is Love all is Light. God the Father loves the Son. God the Son loves the Father and the Holy Ghost is the Eternal LOVE between the Father and the Son. This is the nature of God. Their eternal business is to Love. In this eternal giving of Love…They willed to share Their Love…Let Us make creatures, and it was done:

God created the Angels, millions and Billions of bright, shining, beautiful Angels! Pure Spirits, made in God’s own Image and Likeness: giving them an intellect - the power to think and a free will - the power to choose… Every one of the angels was created beautifully different, though all reflecting the perfections of God. God made one Angel brighter, stronger and smarter than all the other Angels put together, because this was a preparation for the duty the Most Blessed Trinity bestowed upon this Angel.

His given duty was to carry God! – To be the bearer of Light! And so God rightly named him - Lucifer! The bearer of Light! God filled all the Angels with His Light and Love, they were filled with His Happiness but they could not see the Glorious Face of God though they adored and praised God continuously…and in seeing Lucifer, they were filled with awe and reverence and held him in high esteem for the Glory of God!

Before allowing the angels to see the Beatific Vision, God gave them all a test.

Many theologians (who are teachers of God) believe that the test, which the Heavenly Father gave to His Angels, was about the future life of the “Son of God made man.” (c/f ‘Neath Saint Michael’s Shield, Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration Clyde, Missouri, 1938, p. 6). Somewhat like a movie, perhaps all the choirs of Angels were directed into a big theatre, there to watch the Divine Drama unfold before their created intelligences… Imagine their suspense filled with boundless joy, to behold with praise and to adore the Will of their Almighty Loving God!

To put the whole Drama into a nutshell – The Mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary were displayed before their “eyes” - (intelligences).

They beheld God the Son descend far, far below the Angelic choirs, leaving all His Glory behind, hiding His Divinity within an ounce of flesh and submitting His independence to the will of a young maiden, the Blessed Virgin Mary who consented with Her free will to be His Mother (Whom, She conceived, by God the Holy Ghost). He then entered into Her womb to be Her very own baby…She lead Him to a stable cave, there the Son of God was born, in coldness, darkness, poverty and absolute dependence (Luke 2.14) on His Mother…She called Him Jesus. She nourished Him, She clothed Him, She raised Him, He submitted lovingly to all… The Drama continued to unfold, the Son of God grew up little by little, poor and unknown, She was there keeping all His words (Luke 2.51) in Her Heart… Later, Jesus, chose some poor people to be His friends teaching them many beautiful things about His Father… Many important people did not believe His words…The night before the Son of God chose to die out of Love and Obedience to His Father and Love for His new creatures - mankind, He ate His Last Supper with His best friends…Jesus took bread and wine into His Hands, thanking His Father, He said: “This is My Body, This is My Blood. Take and eat it!”… (Matt.26.26,27). Now, the little white Host - the Son of God, is Divine Food for mankind! He then poured all of His Power into those men and said; “ You do this in remembrance of Me.” (Luke 22.19) His Mother too was there holding all these things in Her Heart…!

The very next day, God the Son allowed Himself to be judged and condemned by His creatures (Luke 23.21), then hatefully and cruelly tortured…being put to death nailed on a Cross and Crucified! (John 19.26 Jesus died willingly to obey His Father and to Love and save mankind…She was continuously with Him…(John 19.26)

Now, even at the 1^st instance when these scenes were beginning to be portrayed Lucifer immediately began to shift and quake!… His spirit became more and more intense and irate as the story of the Son of God continued!…All the other Angels noticed because they held him in great regard! Then it seemed as though his spirit exploded as his voice, more powerful than any atom bomb screamed out rebelling against GOD’S WILL!:

“NON SERVIAM!” –“ I WILL NOT SERVE!” I WILL NOT believe in a Baby God!

I WILL NOT adore a Crucified God! I WILL NOT trust a little white Host for God!

I WILL NOT submit to a little maiden!

I will raise myself above the stars! I WILL BE LIKE UNTO GOD! (Isa. xiv14.)

I WILL NOT obey!

I HATE this story!

Lucifer became pride incarnate because he would not bend to the Incarnation!

All the other Angels heard Lucifer’s bad words!

All the other Angels saw Lucifer’s bad example!

Many angels’ intelligences agreed with Lucifer’s bad words. Many Angels were struck with fear! All were silent…but one little Angel like an arrow shot from its bow flew straight to its target – the Throne of God! Bowing low before the Most Blessed Trinity, his words filled with deepest sorrow, were strong and true and trembling: “MY GOD,

I BELIEVE, I ADORE, I TRUST, and I LOVE THEE!” Several times over he pleaded these words dazed with the sorrow that filled him, instantaneously God the Father lifted up the little Angel fitting him for a duty, armored with far superior Wisdom! Grace! and Holiness! He was no longer little he was bold and big and strong! Almighty God presented to him a majestic Sword, flaming with the Love, Light and Power of God ! It was the shape of the Cross that the Angels saw God the Son suffer and die on! His voice now rang out more tremendous than any thunder super abounding Godlike!: “MI-CHA -EL! WHO IS LIKE GOD!” The fearlessness and faithfulness of God’s humble champion roused the courage of the good Angels in rallying to his Standard.: “MI-CHA-EL! Raising his flaming Sword on high! and began a great battle in Heaven! (Apoc.12.7) MICHAEL! (his Battle cry is his very name!) and all the Faithful Angels taking up his battle cry fought with the dragon - Lucifer who’s rebellion - SIN - disobedience to the Will of God - engraved on him his eternal name - satan - which means the prince of darkness. The angels who bound their intelligence to follow him into SIN - transformed them likewise into hideous, ugly devils!

Tumbling furiously into the abyss of eternal fire – HELL – satan and all the devils are chained by their sin to the torments of their everlasting punishment. While under the leadership of SAINT Michael and his SAINTED Angels won a Glorious Victory for GOD! And were taken up into HEAVEN – the eternal reward of their loving and loyal obedience to God’s absolute TRUTH! Winning for themselves an eternal homeland filled with happiness seeing GOD face to face in the Beatific Vision!

Conclusion – What’s in it for me? A few brief lessons:

God will not have any forced service. He gave the Angels the gift of free-will, by which they were at liberty to choose between good and evil, and could freely side either with God or against Him. When the decisive moment came, one third of the angels made a bad use of their freedom…

“God’s ways are not our ways!” But, we are free to make His will our own.

The Mysteries of the Holy Rosary the path of their Salvation containing the Life of the Son of God made man was the decisive test of obedience of our elder brothers in the Faith - the Angels.

“What you see is what you get”, all is absolute Truth nothing ambiguous. May we like them conform our intelligence to KNOW, LOVE and SERVE our GOOD GOD!

Our Country is Heaven – sweet Land of liberty!

“This is eternal life: That they may know Thee, the only True God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent”. St. John 17.3

“QUIS UT DEUS ?”
