In Honor of St. Anne

Last Sunday, a precious Grandmother, was happy to tell me this little story, standing quietly by was grandpa, both are our parishioners:
During the week they, had gone to one of their grandsons’ birthday parties. The little fellow was 3 years old! When it was time to open presents…then… he opened Grandma’s and Grandpas’- he found blocks and then a puzzle and then as big as the puzzle - a picture! The blocks and the puzzle fell aside…he grasped the picture! The picture! He couldn’t take his eyes off it, his eyes dancing with joy! All at the little gathering noticed. His mother asked him: "WHO IS THAT on the picture?" The little one responded possessively:
“It’s MINE!”
Mommy asked again: “WHO is that? Again the response was bold and absolute:
“IT’S MINE! !”
Mother asked the third time, (perhaps to hear a Name she hopefully taught her little boy.) But there was only one answer in the baby’s mind, and emphatically so!
“IT’S ! MINE! ! !”
“Out of the mouths of babes…” children can really tell it like it is! Having just come from God just a few years past they know for certain what to possess in this life:
“ JESUS! I! TRUST! IN! THEE! ” And Jesus Himself confirms the little wise man in his simple proclamation, as He says to us all: “…Amen I say to you, unless you be converted, and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matt.18:3
The picture from Grandma was that of “Divine Mercy” ! Happy to add, Grandma left church with two more “pictures” more birthdays coming up!
On this Feast of Jesus’ Grandma - let us praise and thank God for our precious Grandmothers, and Grandpas too, Good Saint Anne, intercede for us! Deo Gratias !s.m.mi.
